Homeowners in Markham, Virginia had a basement that wasn't insulated. Poured concrete basement walls are buried in cool earth and are perpetually cold. The dense concrete has a lot of mass and you can never heat them up. In the summer, warm humid air from outside hits your cold basement walls and condensation forms, supporting mold.
Solution

This home in Markham, VA had an unfinished basement that was not insulated.
To reduce heat loss and infiltration of cold air, we air sealed and insulated the Rim Joist area with closed-cell polyurethane spray foam.
Closed cell spray foam was installed on the walls. It stops air flow through all of the holes and cracks in the building assembly and materials and is superior insulation. Closed cell spray foam has an R value of 6.3 per inch which is double or triple that of fiberglass.
Two inch thick Polyiso insulation board is installed to insulate the poured basement walls.
Basement to Beautiful panels are installed on the walls. These panels are made from SilverGlo foam insulation panels which feature graphite infused into the foam for a 24% increased insulation over standard EPS foam. A metal stud is built into the panels.
Not only do Basement to Beautiful panels insulate your walls, but the wall framing is done and your basement is ready for finished wall panels. Electric chases in the panels allow an electrician to wire outlets, switches, etc. at anytime in the future.
