Challenge
This homeowner is Reston, VA had high utility bills, drafty areas, and mold growing on the under-side of the roof decking. These are indicators of a tremendous amount of heat loss in the winter. Hot air escapes from the home, hits the cold roof decking and condensates, leaving behind moldy wood on the roof.
Solution
Comfenergy proposed several solutions including the option for spraying closed cell foam on the under-side of the roof deck. This keeps the heat in the house, lowers drafts, lowers utility bills, and stops the condensation/mold growth.
