This Reston homeowner was looking to lower their utility costs, make the house less drafty, and become more comfortable year round.
The existing attic insulation was removed and the attic floor was air sealed using one part spray foam. Notice the new soffit air baffles to make sure the attic ventilates properly with the new insulation in place.
The finished photo of the attic including new zippered attic access tent, dams to keep TruSoft cellulose off of the attic storage deck, and even new cellulose beneath the storage decking!
The basement rim joists around the perimeter were determined to be drafty and losing heat.
The rim joists were sealed and insulated with 2 part, low pressure, closed cell spray foam. No more drafts and energy loss here!
