Dense Packing Walls w/ Insulation Solves Cold Bathroom - Reston, VA

Challenge

This Reston, VA townhouse had a first floor powder room that was extremely cold in the winter. Comfenergy found very poorly insulated exterior walls on 3 sides of the bathroom making it absolutely freezing!

Solution

The solution provided was to cut holes in the exterior walls from the inside as it was all brick on the outside. TruSoft cellulose was used to dense pack these walls. When done the drywall was patched, and the homeowner could then re-paint to match with the leftover paint they had.

The entire bathroom was stripped down to nothing but the toilet and sink. They were covered as well as the floor.

Holes were cut where necessary to allow us to fit a dense pack hose in the walls. Notice there is NO insulation in these exterior walls at all.

The dense pack hose was inserted and TruSoft cellulose was packed into the exterior walls.
