The Scene
This hatch cover is the entrance the the scene in which we will be working.
The Culprit
What we are looking at here is the scene upon the time of our arrival. The pink perpetrator is fiberglass insulation which is an outdated for of thermal insulation which we will be removing and replacing.
Step 1
This first step after removing the fiberglass insulation, we will air seal all points of potential leakage with ZypFoam. This is what you are looking at in this photo. The orange/pink rectangles here are the ZypFoam.
Step 2
The next step is to insulate can-light covers which are what fireproof your recess lighting. We also use ZypFoam to do this as displayed in this photo.
Step 3
The next step is to install the blow in-insulation. We specifically us TruSoft Blow-In Cellulose insulation which is a patent-protected insulation. This is an up-close shot. It is made of mostly recycled paper and denim which you can see in this photo.
Step 3: Part 2
These tubes are how we physically blow-in the TruSoft which we bring in in our trucks.
Step 3: The Big Picture
This is what the attic will look like once the TruSoft is installed!
Step 3: Continued
Another shot of the TruSoft!
Step 4: The Deck
What you are looking at here is a platform on top of the TruSoft. Building a deck-like feature over the Tru-Soft allows you superior insulation without compromising the functionality of your space as a storage unit.
Step 4: Part 2
Here is photo that shows another angle of the deck!
Step 5: The David Lewis Hatch Cover
The final step is insulating the hatch cover. This specifically is the David Lewis Hatch Cover.
