Photo Album: Insulating and sealing a cold room in Leesburg VA

This Leesburg VA home had a storage space that was was too cold in the winter. The room was insulated with fiberglass batt insulation already but the rim joists were not sealed so outdoor temperatures were able to impact the space inside. 2 inches of closed-cell spray foam was used to seal up all of the rim joists at the top of the room and then 2 3/8" Foamax™ Insulation Board was used over the top of the existing fiberglass insulation to keep the conditioned space feeling the way the homeowners would like it to. This space will now be conditioned all year long and will better meet the needs of the homeowner.
