Photo Album: Burke VA attic gets spray foam insulation
This Burke VA home had uncomfortable temperatures from room to room and was leaking conditioned air from the living space of the home, into the attic where it was then being allowed to escape from the home. Conditioned air is heated or cooled using the HVAC system of a home and costs money!! Properly air sealing an attic space and then effectively insulating it can save a homeowner lots of money over the life of a home and can essentially turn services like the ones we performed here free. This attic was cleared of its existing insulation and then air-sealed using ZypFoam in all of the cracks and seams where air could escape. Afterward, spray foam was used to seal up and insulate the walls/ceiling of the attic. This helps to make the attic a conditioned space that doesn't allow air to freely move in or out.
Before spray foam
Bare walls have no insulation value. Exposed PVC pipes can be susceptible to different temperatures in the attic depending on the season.
Spray foam after
All of the walls have now been air sealed and insulated, better conditioning the space and allowing for better temperature control.

Before spray foam
Noninsulated walls have no control over temperature or attic environment feel.
