Photo Album: McLean attic insulation upgrade

This McLean VA attic was improperly insulated with bare spots allowing for heat and cool to escape the home freely. Additionally the exhaust duct system was not properly set up so air that was intended to be vented out of the home was actually being trapped in the attic. This all lead to the home being too hot in the warmer months and too cold in the cooler months, causing the homeowner to run their HVAC system more than they should have and increasing their energy bills. Our Sales Pro Pedro was called out to visit and performed a full home performance inspection to identify the solutions needed to help improve things. Our production team later came out, removed the existing insulation, used ZypFoam to air seal the attic and then installed Foamax paneling to insulate the space. The exhaust vents were properly placed and the exhaust vents were repaired in order to properly function. The attic is now a conditioned space able to be used for storage or any other use and is no longer impacted by the external temperatures in the winter or summer. The energy cost for the home will also be reduced as a result.
