This Reston, VA home was suffering from filthy insulation as a result of poor air quality, uncontrolled air flow and an unsealed attic. These issues were lowering the air quality of the home significantly while also making the home too hot during the summer and too cold during the winter. When our sales professional Eric went out to meet the owners he completed a full home inspection and determined that the best option to solve their discomfort would be to rip out all the old insulation, air seal the attic, and then install new insulation. When the homeowners agreed that this was the best course of action we set out our service crews to get to work. The crews started by removing and disposing of all the old fiberglass insulation. Then they used ZypFoam air sealant to plug any potential leaks and keep the unconditioned uncontrolled attic air from entering the living spaces. Finally, they installed new TruSoft Cellulose insulation and SilverGlo rigid foam insulation to keep the home comfortable year round.
