This Alexandria, VA home was suffering from an improperly insulated attic. This was having a serious negative impact on the comfort level of the home. When our sales professional Jason went out to the property to perform a full home inspection, he determined that the best course of action to end their discomfort would be to air seal and completely overhaul the attic's insulation. Jason explained to the homeowners that the primary cause of their discomfort was the lack of insulation causing the home to be too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. After the homeowners agreed to Jason's solution our service crews went out to get to work on the home. The crews started by removing and disposing of the old insulation. Then they installed the radiant barrier to the attic roof to reduce the average attic temperature. After that, they installed ZypFoam air sealant on all the cracks in the attic floor. Finally, the crew installed TruSoft cellulose as the attic main form of insulation and applied some spray foam insulation to the ventilation to make sure no external temperatures would affect the conditioned air in the vents.
