Attic Stairway Installation with Electrical Fixture Challenges

Challenge

Installing a stairway to access an attic is not always a DIY project! This homeowner in Chantilly, VA was looking to put in a staircase so they could get into their attic. However, there were two electrical fixtures that were in the way of where the staircase needed to be. A smoke detector and a light fixture had to be removed and modified, and trim work needed to be altered in order to work around a structural wall in the hallway.
