Attic Insulation with Storage Deck in McLean, VA

Challenge
This McLean, VA home wanted to upgrade their attic insulation value, but not lose any storage space. During the Comfenergy evaluation the home showed signs of significant attic leakage.
Solution
Comfenergy performed an attic air sealing to stop the air leakage. We then built up plywood "dams" to keep the new insulation in place and off of the newly built attic storage deck. New decking for storage was installed and air sealed at the seams. The customer upgraded to R60 and still was able to keep their storage space in the attic.
