ZypFoam
In this photo you can see how we seal your attic before we insulate it. The orange puffy stuff on the floor you see is ZypFoam which seals any cracks that could potentially be points of outside air leakage.
Air Sealant for Multi-Level Attics
Here you can see the spray foam insulation we used between the floor or the attic and the joist with the other level. With multi-level attics the opportunities for inefficiencies are even greater so it is crucial to seal every possible point of leakage.
Encapsulated Duct
This photo shows the next step in the insulation job, encapsulating the duct work. Encapsulating the duct will make your HVAC system perform better and improve the condition of the air in your attic.
Fire-proofing
The tan mounds you see on the floor are fire-proof can light covers. These covers are protecting your attic from the recess lighting in your home. Recess lighting can be a source of leakage and a fire hazard and these TiteShell can light covers kill two birds with one stone.
Radiant Barrier
In this image you can see the Radiant Barrier we installed which is a reflective shield we put on the interior of the roof. Here you can also see the multi-level aspect of this attic.
Different Kinds of Barriers
Here is just another angle of the installed Radiant Barrier. You can also see the ZypFoam in the photo. These are two different kinds of insulation, both of which are necessary before adding the cellulose insulation which is what comes to mind when most think of attic insulation.
Truly Soft Cellulose Insulation
This up-close shot of TruSoft Cellulose Insulation is the thick thermal barrier that will help maintain the desired temperature of your home. This blow-in insulation will be installed after everything else is sealed off. TruSoft does not burn, hold moisture, or attract unwanted critters of any kind. After installation, it will leave you with a more comfortable and less drafty house, a quieter top floor, and lower fuel and electric bills.
Mixing it Up with Multi-Level Attic Insulation!
This photo simply shows you the multi-level aspect of this home in Reston, Virginia.
A More Complete Image
This photo shows you what the after product looks like in a home where they did not have a walkway or attic decking installed.
Scuttle Covers
Here we air sealed and insulated the scuttle cover with SilverGlo. Unfortunately you cannot see the SilverGlo in this photo, but it is another form of thermal insulation.
