Welcome!
Welcome to this beautiful home in Northern Virginia that we will be spending time in the attic of while familiarizing ourselves with SilverGlo.
What Is It?
SilverGlo is an insulation is a rigid foam board. This products is made of several layers that all have reflective coating, making this not only a physical thermal insulator, but also effective as radiant barrier. Radiant barrier is a reflective agent that keeps external heat out. SilverGlo is a product only available to those in the Dr. Energy Saver dealership which Comfenergy is a part of. SilverGlo is infused with graphite powder that makes it superior to other rigid foam board insulators. Click right to see the benefits of using this product.
Is it Radiant Barrier?
No! SilverGlo is not Radiant Barrier but can act as it! Radiant Barrier is what is displayed in the image above, and is a much thinner sheet which is rolled out and applied directly to the ceiling.
When Is it Used?
SilverGLo can be used in attics (like displayed here), crawlspaces, and basements! They can also be used in conjunction with other products or may be all it takes to fix your problem!
The Benefits: 1
The first benefit, is it's high R-value! This product is very high performing, and it is comes at a pretty low cost! This power combination will drastically increase your homes energy savings, saving you more money (and the planet)!
The Benefits: 2
SilverGlo was an incredible value retention rate- so much so, that it will not lose its insulating value!
The Benefits: 3
The next added benefit of SilverGlo, it its lack of water retention! Water can cause a nasty situation in your attic, crawlspaces, and basements. Other types of insulation such as certain cellulose insulations or fiberglass will hold water causing later issues. Click right to hear about the issues! * Note that the cellulose insulation we have, TruSoft, is also a patent protected technology and it is moisture treated so it too will not retain water *
The Benefits: 4
The value of having a waterproof product, is the value of a mold and mildew free attic! SilverGlo will not support the growth of these nasty unwanted pests, or the lifestyle of literal pests and critters!
The Benefits: 5
Yet another added benefit of SilverGlo is how clean and easy to use it is. Cutting into it is quite easy and it allows you to perfectly fit a piece into any space. Most other forms of thermal insulation will be a touch messier.
The Glue
Over the course of the past 10 images you have seen orange puffy stuff along the way and that has beena cting as our glue. When installing SilverGlo we will most likely use ZypFoam (pictured above) or a tape like product as an adhesive.
