Attic Insulation Photo Album: Leesburg Va attic improvement

This large attic in Leesburg Va ran over the top of several upstairs rooms in this home.  Due to lack of a proper air seal and poor insulation, many of these rooms were cold and were losing the conditioned air being pumped in to try and heat them.  In order to fix these comfort issues, our Sales Professional Carl discovered several solutions to help after performing an inspection of the home.  The duct system in the attic was encapsulated to help keep the air moving through it from being impacted by the air temperature in the attic.  The metal chimney running through the attic was wrapped in rock wool to insulate it and protect it from heating the attic further.  SilverGlo wall insulation was used on several walls to seal the floor joists.    ZypFoam was used to seal up several can light covers, thus keeping air from leaking out of the rooms below and into the attic.  Other vents and small cracks in the attic floor were also sealed up with ZypFoad and then TruSoft cellulose insulation was blown into the attic to create a higher R-value, also keeping the conditioned air and temperatures below the way the homeowners intended.  All of these solutions will help reduce energy costs for the homeowner and will make the comfort level in the home significantly more manageable.
