Attic Insulation Photo Album: Reston VA attic duct sealing and insulation

This beautiful home in Reston VA had upstairs rooms that were not comfortable for the homeowner year round.  Our Sales Pro Matt Pascual visited the home to perform an inspection and find out how to improve it.  the existing insulation in the attic was removed and then our production team used Zyp Foam to air seal all of the small cracks and leaky spots of the ceiling that were allowing conditioned air to leave the rooms and get lost in the attic.  we then built a platform in the attic to walk on in order to access the utility systems and HVAC.  The HVAC ducts were encapsulated with spray foam to keep the air inside from being impacted by the attic temperatures.  Spray foam was used in several other spots to seal and insulate areas where outside air was able to impact the attic air.  Finally, TruSoft blown cellulose insulation was used to insulate the rest of the attic areas.  Tother these steps will create better control of the conditioned air in the home and will create a more controlled space in the attic.
