Attic Insulation Photo Album: Stephens City VA Attic Insulation Enhancement

  This Stephens City, VA attic had dirty low-quality cellulose insulation. This was causing discomfort throughout the home by making rooms too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. On top of that, it was lowering the air quality in the house due to all the dust that was being trapped in the insulation and dispersed throughout the rest of the home. Our sales professional Jonathan Preformed a full home inspection and found several solutions for the customer to choose from. The customer ended up wanting to completely remove and upgrade their current insulation. First, the existing low-grade cellulose was removed and disposed of freeing up space for new high-quality material to take its place. Then, we went around the freshly cleared attic and sealed any and every spot where air could seep through the attic with ZypFoam to encapsulate the attic removing the ability of uncontrolled and unconditioned air to enter and exit the attic. Finally, we installed the new top-of-the-line TruSoft cellulose insulation that significantly increased the R-Value rating so that the attic could be properly insulated. When we finished the home had better air quality, increased comfort in living spaces, and was much more energy efficient because conditioned air was staying where it was supposed to be.
