Attic Insulation Photo Album: Fairfax, VA Attic Insulation Upgrade
This Fairfax, VA home was suffering from ineffective insulation and a drafty attic. This was having a serious negative impact on the level of comfort in the home. When our sales professional Jonathan went out to the property to perform a full home inspection, he determined that the best course of action to end their discomfort would be to Air seal the attic and install new high-quality insulation to keep the home comfortable. Jonathan explained to the homeowners that the primary cause of their discomfort was poor coverage from the low-grade insulation alongside a lack of air sealing. After the homeowners agreed to the solution Jonathan proposed our service crews went out to get to work on the home. The crews started by applying ZypFoam air sealant to the attic floor in order to prevent uncontrolled unconditioned air from entering the living space. Then they install can light covers to the light fixtures sticking up into the attic to prevent more leaks. After that, they apply spray foam insulation to the walls and ventilation system to add an additional level of insulation. Finally, the crew installed new TruSoft cellulose insulation as the primary source of insulation for the attic.
