Attic Insulation Photo Album: Herndon VA Attic Insulation and Air Sealing

This Herndon VA home had rooms that were uncomfortable to the homeowner and high energy bills.  We were called to come do a Home Performance Inspection.  Our Sales Pro Greg was able to identify a way to help.  Greg identified a lack of air seal in the attic.  This was evidenced by the dirt insulation which had been acting as an air filter catching dusty and dirty air that was escaping the home and rooms below into the attic. Greg advised that the old insulation be removed, the attic floor should be air sealed with Zyp Foam and that new Tru Soft cellulose insulation should be blown in afterwards.  This would help to keep conditioned air in the rooms of the home below it was intended to heat and cool, improve the energy efficiency of the home and create a more comfortable living environment for the homeowners.
