This attic in Vienna VA was not doing its job. A well insulated and air sealed attic can reduce energy costs, improve home owner comfort and even improve the air quality in the rooms of a home. This attic spread across the tops of several different spaces in this home, including a garage, bedrooms and hallways. We designed a project that would uniquely address the different zones of the attic and prepared a break wall that would improve the overall performance of the attic. Removal of the old insulation was the beginning of the project, followed by Silver Glo insulation panels, Zyp Foam for air sealing, Spray Foam insulation on the walls and underside of the roof and finally Tru Soft cellulose insulation blown in to fill the rest of the space.

This space lead to a secondary attic space and was blocked with piles of insulation in hopes of closing the 2 sections off. A proper doorway would be built later by our team.
