Attic Insulation Photo Album: Springfield VA Attic Insulation Project

This home in Springfield VA was uncomfortable on the top floor. It was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. The homeowners called us to see if we could help improve it and had our Home Performance Sales Pro Pedro come out to do a whole home inspection. Pedro identified poor insulation in the attic and lots of air loss in the top floor ceiling where conditioned air was escaping into the attic. Our production crew removed the existing insulation, air sealed all of the small cracks and gaps with Zyp Foam and then blew in Tru Soft Cellulose insulation to fill the attic space up. Finally an new tighter sealed attic hatch was installed. This home will now be more comfortable and energy efficient for years and years to come.

Attic Air Sealing

Once the old insulation was removed, the small gaps and cracks in the attic floor were all air sealed with Zyp Foam. The space around the pipe and vent below was air sealed as well.
