Blown-in Insulation Photo Album: Uncomfortable Upstairs - Jeffersonton, VA
A homeowner in Jeffersonton, VA wanted to make their upstairs level more comfortable all year long. The Comfenergy team did several things to achieve this. First, we removed the existing insulation that was old and dirty. Then we installed a super deck which consists of 4" of SilverGlo along the attic deck and then is covered with 3/8" board. We air sealed and insulated the attic, using spray foam and cellulose insulation, and installed a metal chimney wrap. We encapsulated the duct system in the attic with polyurethane spray foam and finally, installed a Davis Lewis scuttle hatch cover.

We use polyurethane foam to close all accessible penetrations and top plates.
