Challenge

This Alexadria, VA homeowner wanted to make their top floor warmer in the winter months. "Outside the box" thinking and design by Corey Hatcher and Comfenergy shows why we can tackle any issue you might have. A hybrid insulation solution was used to solve this problem.

This Alexandria, VA homeowner wanted to make their top floor warmer in the winter.

This picture shows the existing fiberglass batt insulation after it has been removed.

A 2" layer of closed cell spray foam is installed first to air seal the heat from leaving the home at the top floor.

The entire attic floor is air sealed with closed cell spray foam.

A nice thick layer of TruSoft cellulose is installed over the spray foam to ad a better thermal value. This hybrid solution will make the top floor nice and cozy this winter.
