Crawl Space Mildew Odors-Stafford, VA

Challenge

This Stafford, VA homeowner was experiencing mildew odors in their home and couldn't figure out how or why....Comfenergy performed a full comfort and energy evaluation to discover that high humidity in the vented crawl space was the cause.

Solution

The crawl space was sealed up with spray foam, CleanSpace vapor barrier, and a new Everlast crawl space door. Tis process basically "comditions" the crawl space to allow us to control temperature and humidity levels. No more odors, AND the floors will be warmer this winter.

This Stafford, VA homeowner was complaining about mildew odors in the home.

Here is a shot of the new Everlast crawl space door. Comfenergy also sealed up the exterior vents from within the crawl space.

This is a shot of the new CleanSpace vapor barrier being installed. It will eventually be straightened out with no wrinkles, and then the walls sealed with spray foam (closed cell).

The spray foam goes all the way up the walls and also seals the rim joists.
