Photo Album: Air Sealing & Insulation in an Ashburn, VA Home

A homeowner in Ashburn, VA had two main comfort problems that he wanted to solve. He wanted to make the upstairs level of his home more comfortable all year round and he wanted to reduce the humidity in the unfinished area of the basement. After a thorough inspection our Sales Professional, Pedro, recommended a solution to solve both problems. After removing old, inefficient insulation from the attic, the Comfenergy Production Crew air sealed the attic floor and placed TiteShell Recessed Light Fixture Covers over top of the can lights. New soffit baffles were installed where they were needed, and OSB Damming was installed where required to prevent insulation from falling onto the cat walk or storage decking. Then, TruSoft Cellulose Insulation was blown into the attic to an R value of 49. In the basement, the rim joists were sealed and insulated with closed cell spray foam. Now this homeowner has a more comfortable home and a less humidity in the basement as well.
