Attic Insulation That Needs an Upgrade
This existing insulation was not efficient. Over time insulation can degrade, get washed around by the wind, and get used and abused by pests.
Old Attic Insulation Gets Removed
Our production crew will remove and properly dispose of the old insulation that is no longer helpful.
An Attic Ready for Air Sealing
Now that the old insulation is gone and the attic is clean, our crew can really see all of the cracks and crevices that need to be air-sealed.
New Soffit Baffles
Soffit baffles are installed where possible and needed and the air sealing continues.
Air Sealing With ZypFoam
All accessible penetrations and top plates are sealed with expanding polyurethane foam.
Air Sealing is Important
If your home is expensive to heat and cool or has uncomfortable rooms, one of the main culprits is undoubtedly air leaks. Eliminating gaps and cracks ensures your insulation has maximum effectiveness.
Our Premium TruSoft Cellulose Insulation Is Installed
The crew installed Premium TruSoft cellulose insulation. This insulation is blown into the attic.
Recommended R Value
The U.S. Department of Energy recommends R-49 or better for good energy efficiency and interior comfort in the Northern Virginia area.
Beautifully Insulated Attic
This attic is now properly air-sealed and insulated and will greatly contribute to the reduction of the heating and cooling costs of the home.
OSB Damming Installation
OSB retention dams are installed to reduce the possibility of the insulation falling onto the catwalk or storage decking.
Cellulose Insulation
The attic floor is insulated with cellulose insulation. The benefits of TruSoft cellulose insulation compared to fiberglass insulation are that TruSoft will not burn, get moldy, or attract pests.
