Crawl Space Insulation Needed
This crawl space insulation was not air sealed and was allowing moisture, dust and allergens to come in from outside. Musty odors and mildew were present.
Insufficient Insualtion
Imagine putting ice and cold drinks into a cooler but not closing the lid. The ice melts and drinks don't stay cold. Its the same with a room or area that only has some of the walls insulated. The floors and ceiling of the crawl space were not insulated.
Insulated Crawl Space
A moisture barrier was installed across the floor and up the base of the walls, which were covered with Silver Glo insulation panels and then air-sealed. Spray Foam was applied to the rim joists to insulate and seal out external air.
