Photo Album: Woodbridge VA Garage Insulation

This homeowner in Woodbridge VA was experiencing a common problem that most people are not aware can be solved. The rooms that shared connecting walls with their garage were uncomfortable.  The bedroom above the garage was as well.  They were too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.  This type of home performance issue is our specialty.  Garages are often poorly or not at all insulated.  They are also not conditioned spaces.  That means they are impacted by whatever the out side temperatures are.  This allows cold air to pass through the walls to the rooms adjacent to or above the garage.   We were able to help solve their comfort issues by dense packing their walls and garage ceiling.  this process includes cutting small holes in the garage walls and ceiling before inserting a hose that blows in Rock Wool insulation which then fills the gaps between the walls and frame of the ceiling.  Afterwards we seal up the holes and the job is done.  Insulating the garage and keeping cold outside air from penetrating the home can make it easier to control temperatures inside and much more comfortable year round.
