This Dunn Loring home had sweating ducts in the garage ceiling that were making water spots and mildew grow on the drywall.
Solution
Comfenergy cut out sections of the ceiling to allow us access to the main duct trunk lines. Closed cell foam spray was applied on the ducting itself, and on the rim joists around the perimeter of the garage.
Project Summary
Evaluator: Carl Depner
The duct work for the HVAC system is now exposed and ready to be encapsulated with closed cell foam spray insulation.
Here is a shot of the rim joists that were sprayed with closed cell. This keeps the hot/humid air from entering this cavity where the duct work is located.
An after shot of the duct work completely encapsulated with closed cell foam spray.
Another shot from a different angle of the finished product in the garage ceiling.
