This Centreville, VA home had a top floor that was unbearably hot in the summer. Comfenergy found (with thermal imaging) there to be several vertical walls in the attic not insulated and radiating heat into the top floor. These vertical walls were inaccessible by people.
Solution
A combination of closed cell spray foam, air sealing, and TruSoft cellulose did the trick!
Project Summary
Evaluator: Shayne Sandner
This Centreville, VA home had a top floor that was too hot to sleep in during the summer months.
Comfenergy had to cut an access hole to get to the walls that were lacking insulation and radiating heat into the home.
Here is one of the vertical walls with no insulation. Found by thermal imaging, but confirmed by the human eye!
That same vertical wall after being properly insulated with closed cell spray foam.
Another vertical wall spray by foam and the floor well insulated with TruSoft cellulose.
