The Home
Here is the beautiful home in Northern, VA that we will be taking you through for this attic insulation job.
Cleaned Out and Ready to Go
Now that we have taken out the old stuff, we are ready to put in the new stuff!
The Original Fiberglass Insulation
The pink and yellow fluffy guys we are looking at here are the old fiberglass insulation that was popular in the 70s. Many homes still have this type of insulation and though it does help, it is no longer the best thermal insulator for your home.
The First Step
After clearing the space, we have to seal off every point of possible air leakage with ZypFoam. This can has ZypFoam in it which is also the orange puffy stuff that will air seal any points of potential leakage.

Air Baffles
Another layer of protection we installed was Air Baffles. Air baffles are plastic lining where the roofing meets the floor. This can be an easy point of entry for unwanted outside air to seep in but will not be an issue after we install these Air Baffles.

Spray Foam!
This home also had the walls spray foamed, this is a great photo of what that looks like up close!
