Spray Foam Insulation Photo Album: Sterling VA attic duct system encapsulation
This Sterling VA home was having issues evenly heating and cooling all of the rooms in the house. After our Sales Pro Stephen Raddie performed a free home energy audit, he was able to identify several things contributing to the home comfort issues. much of the HVAC ductwork for the home passed through the attic which was an uncontrolled and inefficiently insulated space. The attic would heat up in the summer and become very cold in the winter. When conditioned air (heated or cooled) would pass through those ducts, the attic temperatures would work against its intended temperature and cause it to be less hot or cold by the time it reached all of the rooms it was being pumped to. Air sealing the attic to prevent uncontrolled air from flowing in or out, spray foam encapsulating the ductwork, and then blowing TruSoft cellulose insulation will help to keep the attic space more controlled and allow the conditioned air to travel through the HVAC ducts safely to the rooms of the home.
