One of the best ways to reduce your energy bills and make your home more comfortable is to make a very clear delineation between inside and outside.  Air that is allowed to pass freely from inside to outside and vice versa can have a tremendous impact on the temperature and comfort in your home.  Hot outdoor air in the summer or cold outdoor air in the winter can work against your HVAC systems efforts to condition the air inside of your home.  Proper air sealing and insulation helps to control this problem.  This deck had an enclosed space on top but the floor needed to be sealed and insulated to properly close in the whole space.  Spray foam was the answer.  After the spray foam insulation was applied, the bottom of the deck was sealed up with drywall panels.
