Basement Insulation
Without a good air seal, it is easy for external air to move into the home, bringing with it outside temperatures, dust, allergens and more.
Insufficient Insulation
Some bare spots in the rim joists and top of the basement walls had no insulation at all.
Spray Foam Insulation
With the old insulation removed, Spray Foam insulation was used to seal up the rim joists and new wall insulation was installed to better cover the walls and remove any bad seals where air could have passed.
Spray Foam and Wall Insulation
Eliminating uncontrolled air flow is the first step in properly creating a conditioned space.
Thermal Imaging
This image shows orange where there was a significant temperature fluctuation. This is where air was able to pass in and out of the basement freely.
Basement Insulation
With the walls and rim joists properly insulated, this basement will have no uncontrolled air flow from outside. This will improve comfort, energy efficiency and air quality in the home.
