Spray Foam Insulation Photo Album: Linden VA Hot Top Floor Attic Project

This home in Linden VA had hot spots in the rooms of the top floor. There were temperature fluctuations up to 10 degrees from one area to the next. Our Home Performance Expert Jesus did a full inspection of the home and was able to determine multiple products and services to help with not only the hot rooms but also to help address rodents in the attic. Our production team removed the piles of old insulation, much of which had rodent droppings in it. Once the attic was clear they used Zyp Foam to air seal the attic, eliminating uncontrolled air flow and preventing conditioned air made by the HVAC system from escaping into the attic. Several areas in the attic were treated with spray foam to insulate and add additional air sealing, including the HVAC ducts where there were joints and bends that had seams which has come loose, letting air escape. Finally, the rest of the attic was billed with Tru Soft cellulose insulation which was blown into every corner and cut out of the attic. Tru Sodt is treated with a human safe chemical they deters rodents. This home will be more comfortable, with lower energy bills and less rodents in the attic.
