This Broad Run, VA homeowner was suffering from cold floors and kitchen cabinets. Upon a full comfort evalution by Carl Depner, he found there to be cold air coming through the back of the home. This cold air would travle beneath the floors above and even into the kitchen cabinets.
Closed cell spray foam was used to perfect the air and thermal boundary to make the floors and kitchen cabinets warm again!
This home in Haymarket, Virginia has a unique architecture for the area and the turrets you see ont he front of the house were too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

This home in Haymarket VA had no air seal in the ceilings. Conditioned air intended to cool rooms in the house was able to escape through gaps and holes in the ceiling including the spaces around this ceiling vent. When conditioned air is able to escape the rooms it is intended to cool, your HVAC systems has to work harder to create more conditioned air. We start to solve problems like this by finding those gaps and cracks and then air sealing around them with Zyp Foam. this can make a home more comfortable and more energy efficient.
This before photo shows a vertical wall in an attic insulated with fiberglass insulation. This fiberglass allows hot/cold air to travel through it and touch the drywall, thus allowing the heat and/or cold to transfer into the living space.
The after picture shows the fiberglass removed and newly insulated using closed cell spray foam. This builds a great protective thermal and air barrier and makes the top floor of this home cooler in the summer months.
