The old insulation in this Herndon VA attic was thin and dirty after years of working like a filter to the uncontrolled air moving in and out of the attic. Dust and allergens collected in the insulation created dark spots and the open vent slits in the wall allowed it to happen for years. Our production crew removed the old insulation, used Zyp Foam to air seal the space and added new soffit baffles along the bottom of the roof line. Afterwards, the rest of the attic would be filled with Tru Soft blown in cellulose insulation.
This Reston VA homeowner wanted to make their home more comfortable across all of the rooms in the home. In addition to Air Sealing, Insulation and Spray Foam across several HVAC ducts, the project also included use of material installed on the under side of the roof rafters to act as a radiant barrier. This would help reflect radiant roof heat away from the attic in the times of year when the sun was at its strongest.
This attic in Reston VA had a big project completed with multiple products and services utilized to help make the homes upper floor more comfortable year round. We removed the old insulation, used Zyp Foam to air seal the attic, installed Silver Glo insulation panels to a large section, insulated the HVAX duct with spray foam and then filled the space with Tru Soft cellulose insulation. This homeowner will be more comfortable and pay less to heat and cool their home.
This Reston, VA attic had low-quality insulation that was making the home too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. We went out to the home and had our sales professional complete a full inspection. He determined that the best solution would be to tear out and dispose of the old insulation, add ZypFoam to air seal the freshly cleared attic floor, and then add new TruSoft cellulose insulation to keep the home comfortable year-round.
This Reston VA home had an attic that was not properly insulated and causing comfort issues in the home. A lack of an air seal for the attic was allowing conditioned air from the rooms in the home to leak away. Walls in the attic that were covered with traditional bat insulation were not holding temperature and had cracks where more air was escaping. Our production team removed the existing insulation from the attic, used Zyp Foam to air seal all of the gaps and cracks where air had been able to escape and then used Spray Foam to insulate and seal the walls. Tru Soft cellulose insulation was then blown in to cover the rest of the attic floor/surface.
